KT Coates auditioned for the new TV series of Gladiators beating 20,000 applicants in physical auditions to win one of 16 places on the show. KT has said It was the most amazing experience of her life, from the training, the production team, the gladiators to the show itself.

Its has been a long and emotional journey for KT. She found out about the show coming back on to our screens in January. It has been her life long ambition to take part, so when the opportunity to apply came up she couldn't miss out!

First their was the online application that 20,000 people applied for, this was whittled down to 1,200 for physical auditions across the UK. The auditions tested strength, agility, fear, speed and stamina, only 200 people passed this. Out of that 200, 100 were selected for interviews to camera. 40 girls and boys were then asked to return for another physical audition and from this 40, 16 were selected to come on to the show.

Training took place at Shepperton Studios for two week prior to the show. Hang Tough, Power Ball, Gauntlet, Duel, The Wall, Earth Quake, Pyramid, Hit and Run were all taught. It was exhausting and there were a lot of injuries.
